All that glitters isn't gold. But it might be a dazzling Samba hybrid. Looking like it came straight from the Land of Oz, adidas’ gold metallic Samba Jane sneaker is a chip off the old yellow brick road.

A golden mix of a standard Samba sneaker and a classic Mary Jane, the Samba Jane carries all the fun of a standard adidas trainer. Sans laces.

The simple Samba, which started as a flat adidas football sneaker, has taken on many additional lives since it first arrived in 1950. Now, 75 years later, the Samba has lived more lives than the average cat, and that's not to speak of the many feline-inspired adidas Sambas out there.

From the beefed-up adidas Samba XLG to the stripped-down Samba Decon sneaker, adidas' flattest sneaker has led quite a full and, dare I say, plump life.

But perhaps the strongest deviation from the Samba's original design code is the Samba Jane.

This is funny considering that the Mary Jane is best known for being a uniform school sneaker. Who knew grade-school charm was the secret to unlocking the next level of footwear fusion?

It also doesn't hurt that this adidas Samba Jane, available on the adidas website for $110, is dipped in gold. Talk about a first-rate sneaker.
