The era of sneaker revivals is getting serious. Brands aren't just bringing back sought-after shoes from years ago; they're now digging deep into the archives to unearth designs that never even saw the light of day, like Jordans based on the unreleased samples.

adidas' SL 72 PT sneaker is also a perfect example. It's based on one of the original SL 72 sneaker designs, a prototype to be exact (PT stands for Prototype, apparently).

It looks slightly different from previous versions, like the SL 72 RS and SL 72 OG (and even that weirdly good mashup from Bad Bunny). But it's still an SL 72 at heart, featuring the model's signature crisp nylon and suede construction, paired with the rubber heel wedge and rippled soles for gripping the tracks back in the day.

adidas offers the SL 72 PT sneaker in nice retro-style colorways, like "Dusky Bronze," "Bold Gold," and "Bright Royal." Most are now available on the brand's website for $120.
