Editor’s Notes: After teasing their collaboration in the lead-up to the new year, adidas and the Pokémon Company kicked off 2020 with an official announcement of their highly anticipated collection.
The collection is inspired by the pixelated graphics of Pokémon's early computer games. Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Eevee appear across a selection of kids, teens and adult black tees. Poké Balls decorate white and red tees, and cozy black tracksuits features Pikachu's iconic red Poké Ball.
The adult footwear collection revisits adidas' Phosphere shoe with the inclusion of contemporary Pokémon illustrations on the tongue.
Footwear in the youth collection includes adidas Advantage and Hoops Mid 2.0 shoes. Each of the retro styles are given a refresh, through the addition of pixelated Pokémon uppers.
