Double Tap to Zoom

The adidas Tokyo has mastered the art of doing nothing and making it look good.

The flat-soled model appears in a classic all-black look, featuring smooth suede, leather accents, and of course, its grippy yet barely-there soles.

And well, that's all, folks.

There isn't much to Tokyo already, which is a good thing if you're looking for a solid everyday shoe.

It's slim, flat, and often comes in simple colorways. Even its more "adventurous" looks don't get too crazy, but provide just enough something-something compared to the more basic color schemes.

adidas has quietly spiced up the Tokyo with sleek leather makeovers and trendy Kill-Bill-style colorways (and these takes were good). But this "Core Black" version brings the model back to basics for the better.

For those looking to cop, the Tokyo "Core Black" sneaker is now available on adidas Japan's website for ¥14,300, roughly $90.
