What We’re Saying: adidas’ Ultraboost line has given sneakerheads a bit of everything over the years. High-heat, exclusive releases were part and parcel of the Ultraboost‘s early life-cycle, however, the model’s subsequent iterations have also gone through a period of decreased popularity. The latest version, the Ultraboost 21, is probably the best design since the original was released over 5 years ago, featuring more Boost, an incredibly comfortable upper, and going all-in on performance.

Now, the Ultraboost 21 is set to arrive in a winterized version, something that we’ve seen on past iterations before. Winterizing classic and contemporary sneakers alike has become somewhat of a common theme across all brands in recent years. Just look at the GORE-TEX Nike Air Force 1, or Reebok’s weather-proofed Zig Kinetica 2.

adidas’ COLD.RDY Ultraboost 21 features an insulated upper and a Continental WinterGrip rubber outsole, both of which keep your feet warm, dry, and stable on slippery surfaces. According to reports, this version of the Ultraboost 21 is set to be released later this year, so if you’ve been looking for a winter-ready sneaker staple, stay tuned for more release details as we get them.
