Apple has just released its fastest Mac notebook ever, the eight-core MacBook Pro.

The upgraded 15-inch laptop features eighth- and ninth-generation Intel Core processors, making the machine 40 percent faster than a six-core MacBook Pro, with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 5 GHz. The 13-inch laptop also has improved quad-core processors with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.7 GHz.

Processor-heavy software works much faster, with Apple claiming that the application of complex filters and edits will be 75 percent faster in Photoshop, code compiling will be 65 percent faster in Xcode, with the editing of up to 11 simultaneous 4K video streams possible in Final Cut Pro X.

Apple also says the SSD hard drive is also "blazing fast," as are the Thunderbolt 3 ports. Additionally, the MacBook's Retina display features 500 nits of brightness, support for the P3 wide color gamut, and True Tone technology. Finally, the laptop features the Apple T2 security chip, Touch ID, and a Touch Bar.

The new MacBook Pro is available now, starting from $1,799 for the 13-inch model and $2,399 for the 15-inch.
