Banksy's half-shredded Love Is in the Bin painting will be on show at Museum Frieder Burda in Baden-Baden, Germany next month. In October, the painting, originally titled Girl With Balloon, famously self-destructed after it sold for $1.4 million at a Sotheby's auction. The stunt boosted the painting's value and made it the first artwork ever to be created during a live auction.

Love Is in the Bin is owned by a private buyer, who has loaned it to the museum for a one-month exhibition. “We are expecting great interest from the public, especially young people and Banksy fans,” Museum Frieder Burda director Henning Schaper told Artnet.

“At the same time," he continued, "we have to resist the temptation to display the picture like a trophy. That would definitely not be what the artist had in mind. Instead, we are trying to adhere to his approach of consistently democratizing art and we are currently discussing how to make the picture accessible to as many people as possible.”

The painting will be on display from February 5 until March 3. Head to the Museum Frieder Burda website for more details.
