Editor’s Notes: Japanese streetwear brand BAPE has tapped iconic American children's TV show Sesame Street for a capsule collection that's set to drop this weekend. A couple of days ago, BAPE took Instagram to share a preview, highlighting two items that'll be included in the collection: a black Cookie Monster T-shirt and a grey hoodie, which features the graphic shown above — an illustration containing minimal reinterpretations of Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie. The characters are standing in front of the classic Sesame Street building, which is placed within a silhouette of the brand's iconic APE head. Baby Milo can be seen napping atop a lamp post.
A full look at the collection confirms that BAPE has cast the Sesame Street characters alongside its Baby Milo character, across a selection of bags, keychains, coats, stickers, hats, hoodies, and totes, as well as a range of tees in sizes for the whole family.
This isn't the first time BAPE and Sesame Street have joined forces, nor is it the first major Sesame Street-themed collab of the last twelve months, as anyone who copped that Uniqlo x KAWS plush character collection will tell you.
