FC Barcelona has launched its latest kit ahead of season 2021/2022 — and it includes the best football shorts we've seen in a long time.

As always, the jersey is a relatively straightforward affair, arriving in the club's traditional Blaugrana colors. Riffing off the club crest, stripes have been modified at chest height in a nod to the St George Cross, representing the patron saint of Barcelona and the Senyera (the striped Catalan flag). Below is where it gets interesting, though, with shorts that come in a half garnet and half blue, as well as matching striped socks. It's a bold look — ideal for the pool as well as the pitch — and one we will hopefully see Lionel Messi steeze next season.

The likes of Gerard Pique and Ilaix Moriba helped launch the shirt, along with club president Joan Laporta. "I really like the shirt," said Laporta. "I thank those at Nike responsible, who have made an innovative design every year, whether everybody has liked them or not."

The new Barça 2021-2022 home kit is set to be available to Nike Members on June 16 with the full release hitting Nike on June 21.
