Bill Murray Reprises His Iconic Role for ‘Ghostbusters 2020’
Bill Murray has been confirmed to take part in Ghost Busters 2020. His co-star in the original Ghostbusters film, Dan Akroyd, revealed Murray would reprise his role as Dr. Peter Venkman in the upcoming sequel.
Returning actors include Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Akroyd. The Independent has confirmed that they'll be starring alongside Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and McKenna Grace.
The sequel will be directed by Jason Reitman, son of the original Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman. Akroyd told The Greg Hill Show, Jason Reitman wrote a “beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation.”
Ghost Busters 2020 is slated to release next summer. Watch the first teaser trailer here.
