One of the most exciting takeaways from Marvel's Hall H panel was the news that Oscar-winning actor, Mahershala Ali was taking up the mantle of Blade. The True Detective star will play the titular vampire hunter in the new Marvel film.

Literally everyone seemed to be fanning out about the casting choice. Watch the video above to see what Marvel's president Kevin Feige had to tell Variety about the “dream” decision to call on Ali.

“He's the perfect Blade because he's one of the greatest actors working today” Feige explains. He went on to say that Ali “is actually a huge fan of our universe and of the character and he's going to destroy the part.”
