Especially for the biggest fashion brands in the world, it's the smallest touches that speak the loudest. No one knows the huge value of these little bits better than Chanel overseer Matthieu Blazy. He demonstrated mastery of the art at Bottega Veneta and at Chanel, his eye for detail remains on full display. But as always, you'll only notice if you know how to look.

His debut Chanel collection, Spring/Summer 2026, was initially defined by super-sized spectacle — models wearing his new clothes paced beneath an enormous assemblage of heavenly bodies — but it comes to life in barely-noticeable moments that we, of course, did notice.

The accompanying campaign is a splashy affair that sees Eternal Sunshine director Michel Gondry and photographer Craig McDean lensing Margot Robbie to the tune of Kylie Minogue (who makes a cameo). It's a lot of beautiful bombast.

And yet it's still all about the clothes, as so many things in Blazy's world are. Without a foundation of quality product, this entire luxury business comes crashing down. But Blazy specializes in not only quality stuff but beautiful stuff that elevates everything around it, including itself.

For some Chanel admirers, the main event will be many new iterations of the Chanel 25 handbag and its Mini companion, which range from washed denim to classic quilted leather. But, you should zoom in.

When doing just that, we were tickled to find a handful of subtle cues that cleverly riff on Chanel's inimitable logo in manners most clever, highlighting the art in Blazy's craft.

One black silk pullover shirt, a looker in its own right, tastefully hides a gilded double-C under its sleeve. Classic washed jeans feature nifty logo-shaped buttons and, even better, reshape the arcuates — decorative back pocket stitching — into matching interconnected C's. And a closure-free summer-weight cardigan, seemingly free of overt Chanel references, instead subtly recaptures the feel of the house's trademark tweed as a raw-hemmed statement piece.

This is high-level clothes-making that supersedes conventional luxury, where a product is often the purpose. But in Blazy's hands, the product, and its logos, become trascendant.
