Christie’s is offering collectors a chance to secure works on paper by two of the most coveted names in contemporary art.

It's rare for novice collectors to get their hands on a Takashi Murakami or Yoshitomo Nara work on paper. But with estimates starting at less than $2,000, the Murakami/Nara auction offers the perfect opportunity to launch your fine art collection with iconic works from the world-renowned Japanese artists.

Takashi Murakami and Yoshitomo Nara arrived in the United States in the late 1990s and created a new aesthetic known as Superflat that is beloved, internationally recognizable, and widely regarded as a sound investment. Stylistically Murakami and Nara are different in technique and emotional feel, but the influence of manga and anime permeates into both artists’ work.

The online-only auction comprises 40 lots including a twice signed edition of Murakami's Jellyfish Eyes with a starting estimated at $2,000 and an edition of Nara's Star Island screen print that is estimated to reach $20,000.

Bidding on the Murakami/ Nara auction has already opened and will run until Friday, December 11.
