adidas’ biggest Superstar has found itself in a hairy situation. This time, it’s courtesy of CLOT, the Hong Kong–based streetwear label founded by actor and cultural connector Edison Chen, known for reworking classic sportswear silhouettes through a fashion-forward, East-meets-West lens.

The result is the CLOT x adidas Dress Superstar “Cow Print,” a feral take on the 55-year-old basketball sneaker that leans unapologetically animal.

The most eye-catching detail is the shoe’s pony hair upper, finished in a spotted cow print that immediately separates it from the herd.

Hairy Superstars aren’t entirely new territory for adidas, with pony hair builds and cow-inspired colorways surfacing as recently as last year. But this sneaker pushes the idea further.

Because this isn’t just a hairy Superstar. It’s a dressed-up one. CLOT reframes the shell-toe icon as something closer to a moccasin or sneaker loafer, borrowing cues from traditional formal footwear.

Ornate detailing, a fringed hangtag, and what appears to be a wooden sole add a preppy, almost old-world feel, while the embossed shell toe keeps the shoe grounded in its sporty roots.

Expected to release via adidas website in 2026, this latest Dress Superstar arrives during a moment when the silhouette continues to reinvent itself, from Swarovski-covered statements to quieter “icon” refreshes. Turns out, the adidas Superstar always had a bit of animal in it.
