NOBODY WANTS TO, AND I QUOTE, “BE PERCEIVED” THESE DAYS, AND OUR FAVE VIRTUAL INFLUENCER, IMMA, IS NO DIFFERENT.

The anxiety of expectations and how to break through them weighs on the pink-bobbed bot as she journeys on in the next rendition of a whimsical Tabby Bag-adorned metaverse.

Who better to kick off this learning curve than with the unabashedly authentic

Youngji Lee?
Hailing from Seoul, the performer takes center stage as Coach’s power player in level 3, “The Courage To Break The Mold.” A female Korean rapper? This characterization alone might leave a few scratching their heads. Lee’s mere existence in a male-dominated American-inspired genre serves as a testament to the art of defying boundaries, and, you guessed it…breaking the mold.

With an unmatched musical prowess and an electrifying presence, Lee has won over 3.6 million dedicated followers—built-in devotees to her online life documentation and iconic IDGAF attitude. A quick scroll through her selfie-laden feed offers an inside look at K hip-hop stardom: on-stage tour snaps, multipage magazine editorials, and of course, behind-the-scenes shenanigans. Lee is the hip-hop star you tell yourself you could be if you had any musical talent—equal parts inspirational yet still very much unphased by this whole “fame” thing—and that’s exactly how she connects with her audience. Fans live vicariously through her every share, eating up each post with heart-eye emojis and “obsessed!” comments. She somehow manages to make each of her millions of followers feel the sentiment of “She’s just like me!”...but minus a million-dollar record deal, of course.

The rapper is no rookie to the public eye, either. Way before the award shows, fashion campaigns, and droves of adoring fans, the 21-year-old’s rise to stardom had been rigorously documented through the glare of a camera lens. Lee became a household name in South Korea with her big win on High School Rapper 3, a rapping competition reality show. She was talented, she was confident, and she had personality to boot. She never took herself too seriously, and that uninhibited boldness landed her on Coach’s radar. Subsequently, this led to another boundary-breaking move for Lee, as she was swooped up by the heritage brand solidifying her spot as Coach’s first Korean Global Ambassador in 2023.

Thus begins Lee’s journey with imma. We catch up with the virtual virtuoso during her most human existential crisis yet.

“What if I’m not what they expect me to be?” She internally cries. Ah, sweet neo-human naïveté.

Set high above a futuristic New York skyline, Lee breaks onto the colorful scene through a mold of herself or, rather, the carefully polished version we’d expect from her. As her golden statue’s façade crumbles, Lee powers up with a toss of her sunglasses and a confident hair flip, ready to set imma straight. The suspension bridge becomes her stage, and the purple Tabby bag, her instrument. A few dance moves and silly faces later, imma is laughing. Because you know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Leave it to Youngji to keep it the realest with imma, showing the internet ingenue just how liberating letting go of the pressures of the world (or should we say World Wide Web) can be.

imma drops the anxiety of being judged and picks up a Tabby instead—taking a page out of Lee’s book of confidence. The AI model levels up on her endeavor to be real and travels onto the next CGI world amongst the likes of Camila Mendes and Kōki, learning from the best on living boldly and authentically in a human-bot 5-level crossover. With each level comes a new Tabby bag and for fashion fanatics, it doesn’t get much better than that.

WELL, MAYBE SELF-ACTUALIZATION WOULD BE EVEN BETTER, BUT IMMA IS ON HER WAY TO THAT, TOO.
