Puns aside, our fave virtual influencer, imma returns in the latest release of Coach’s five-level campaign, Find Your Courage, and boy, is she blossoming. She’s so close to “realness”—but not quite there just yet. Under the guidance of expert evolver and onscreen chameleon, Camila Mendes, the bot journeys through a series of self-reflections in a flowery garden amongst the futuristic New York landscape. The episode reads like a beautiful self-help book entitled something along the lines of “Don’t be scared! Keep growing!” With a daisy-printed Tabby slung over her shoulder, Mendes fearlessly leads the charge towards metamorphosis and imma follows suit, self-actualization at stake. 

Consider us touched—motivated, even. And just like imma, we’re learning from the best when it comes to self-evolution and all things “glowing up.”

From the small screen to the silver screen, Mendes has planted her roots throughout all corners of the acting industry. She’s been a drama fixture. A comedy starlet. Her CV has been curated with care and no genre has been left untouched. For starters, there was Veronica Lodge: her first starring role and introduction to the public on CW’s Riverdale. Alongside fellow TV darlings, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, Mendes shot to fame as the outspoken rich chick on the equal parts cheesy and easily binge-able teen drama.

After multiple series renewals and a Teen Choice Award to boot, Mendes arrived at a pivotal point in any TV actress’ career: continue to grow in television or branch out into new territory. With the potential threat of typecasting looming overhead, Mendes chose the latter. The plethora of Riverdale’s bite-sized 40-ish minute episodes served as samples of Mendes’ acting chops. She did quip. She did suspense. And she did quickly catch the eyes of film producers and casting directors alike. Naysayers? Nipped in the bud. These puns write themselves.

In 2024, the actress officially added “executive producer” to her growing resume with the release of Cinderella-esque, Upgraded and Rudy Mancuso’s directorial debut, Música. Never shy to shift directions, Mendes continues to grow into an industry juggernaut. Why stop at one accolade when you can collect them all like roses from a garden?

And just like that, imma gains a new level of authenticity. I mean, it takes a different level of brain power to accept your past self while continuously evolving into your next self. But if there’s one neohuman multihyphenate that could do it, it’s imma (and not just because I can’t think of another name that fits the niche category).
