COMME Des GARÇONS’ Nike Air Max Was an Italian Dress Shoe in Its Past Life
COMME des GARÇONS and Nike have cooked up some of the craziest sneakers together over the years, from super-stacked Cortez sneakers to literal soccer heels. What's next on the CdG x Nike menu? An Air Max dress shoe hybrid.
The newest COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS collaboration involves Nike's Air Max Dolce, a super-obscure laceless Air Max model initially released in the early 2000s.
It's quite honestly an Italian loafer mashed with an Air Max running sneaker, marrying classy touches with Nike's world-famous tech.
Wavy-patterned molding makes up the sidewalls, while this sort of sturdy cage lands on the loafer-style toe box. And of course, Nike Air gets injected in the heels, bringing comfort to the fancy, techy sneaker.
Now, it's even more luxurious, thanks to CdG.
The brand's refined spin includes sleek patent-leather touches, updated side molds, and quiet branding stamps. The collaborative Air Max Dolce also naturally comes in CdG's signature colorways: black, white, and black/white.
CdG clearly enjoys visiting the Nike archives, having unearthed some serious gems over the years, like Nike's Air Max TL 2.5 and the Air Rejuven8 recovery sneaker. Let's not forget the luxury label basically kicked off the Air Max Sunder's revival.
COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max Dolce is now expected to release this summer on Nike's website, following a reveal at Paris Fashion Week in 2025.
It remains unknown if the Air Max Dolce sneaker will get a bigger relaunch down the road. But if we've learned anything from CdG's past Nike collabs, it's that anything the brand touches almost always turns into revival gold.
