Double Tap to Zoom

Approximately 100 socially distanced audience members witnessed an all-star comedy lineup when Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock FaceTimed Jim Carrey during their set in Ohio, as part of the ongoing summer series, “Dave Chappelle & Friends: A Talk with Punchlines.”

Images from Chappelle's invite-only, socially distanced, standup-event were largely kept under wraps but Chris Rock broke the embargo, sharing two pictures from the secretive event on Instagram yesterday.

"So I went to Ohio and did a Covid tested show with Dave and Jim Carrey on FaceTime .Crazy year indeed. Jim closed the show. It’s been a horrible year but this as definitely a bright spot."

The "bright spot" may have referred to Jim Carrey's cameo, captured in the second slide. While intel is relatively scarce, it appears Chappelle and Rock cold-called Carrey towards the end of the set, and the comedy veteran answered and went on to close the show.

Chappelle has continued to produce comedic content throughout the pandemic. Find out what went down at his Fourth of July music festival in the cornfields of Ohio and get the details on his Netflix special 8:46.
