Elon Musk has defied county orders and is putting his workforce at risk by restarting production at Tesla's Fremont, California factory on Monday.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he doesn't appear to care about the health of his employees nor the legal ramifications of the move. In fact, he tweeted that he was prepared to be arrested — see below.

Musk has been an outspoken critic of Alameda County's shelter-in-place rules and even filed a lawsuit over the weekend alleging that the current the County's lockdown measures were "violations of the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment." In fact, the county's stance has contributed to relatively low coronavirus mortality and infection rates.

According to workers who spoke anonymously to the Washington Post, employees who reported to the factory over the weekend said "people gathered in groups and there was little enforcement of social distancing practices."
