Is Emily Ratajkowski Becoming a Skater Girl?
Emily Ratajkowski's general-release sneaker chronicles continue, and this time she's taken a leaf out the book of early-2000s skaters.
We previously concluded that the 32-year-old is a sneakerhead, by virtue of all the different models and brands she's been spotted wearing. While never bowing down to the hype of limited-edition collabs or hyped releases, Ratajkowski has a vast sneaker arsenal of general release bangers ranging from Salomons to Puma's Samba competition.
You'll rarely see her step out in the same pair twice — and we're taking note.
The most recent of her looks, spotted by paparazzi as she wandered the streets of New York, sees the model, podcaster, and author in another pair of classic sneakers, the Vans Old Skool.
Ratajkowski paired the sneakers with the shorts of the season: jorts. More specifically, big and baggy light-wash jorts — which sees her join the likes of Jaden Smith, A$AP Rocky, and Gigi Hadid in the redemption of jean shorts.
This isn't the first time that the model has worn Vans, a brand best known for being worn by skaters, and this time she's paired them together with a style of shorts that skaters are most synonymous with (early skate magazines and video shoots allegedly banned shorts unless they were of the denim variation). The question on my mind is: Emily Ratajkowski, do you even skate bro?
I expect that the answer is no, however, Emrata has proved that she can make Vans and jorts look as good as any old-school skater can.
