It's official: Erling Haaland is back with the Nike fam.

Nike confirmed the news on social media, sharing a video of the Manchester City's Norwegian striker meditating with the caption "a new era of #9. Erling Haaland is a Force of Nature."

This comes just days after Haaland wore the Friends and Family pairs of the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low collab, proving what our style writer Sam Cole called the "well-known fact that modern footballers cannot be stylish."

Now, this Haaland and Nike deal isn't new. The Norwegian football player signed with the Swoosh at the age of 14 with his contract expiring in January 2022, making him a free agent (until now).

As he stepped out in boots by Nike, adidas, and PUMA, everyone anxiously waited to see which brand would make the first move and finally secure the Man City giant. Obviously, Nike won this competition.

Details regarding Haaland's new deal with Nike remain largely under wraps. But the striker is amongst other FC royalty at Nike, with Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Megan Rapinoe also under the Swoosh's wing.

In a press statement, Nike speaks highly of Haaland, pointing out his "commitment to holistic fitness and mental health" as well his legendary goal-scoring record — reasons why he's a perfect fit for Team Swoosh (again).

Nike shares, "[Haaland's] record-breaking scoring has put a stamp on the future of the game, and makes him the heir to number 9 — the next-generation striker."
