Editor’s Notes: While many are looking forward to Supreme's Air Max 96 drop this week, the streetwear brand has something else in store in the form of a collaborative collection with English artist and activist, Jamie Reid. Reid's signature ransom note style is on display throughout the capsule, which consists of five different garments.

Born and raised in South London, Reid grew up in a politically conscious family who frequented nuclear disarmament and anti-apartheid rallies. As he got older, he aligned himself with fellow artists and revolutionary thinkers such as Malcolm McLaren, as the two organized student protests in London while at the Croydon School of Art.

Reid developed his DIY approach to art upon co-founding an agitprop magazine by the name of Suburban Press in 1970. There, he repurposed materials from existing newspapers — cutting, pasting, and xeroxing — which ultimately informed his now-signature ransom note style.

While undoubtedly known for his activism, the influential artist also played a pivotal role in defining the image of punk rock, having created multiple album artworks for the Sex Pistols.

Reid's standout typography is the focal point of Supreme's Spring 2021 collab with the artist. Tops are emblazoned with the words "fuck all," while the collection's leading piece — a varsity jacket available in three colorways — is lettered with the phrase "It's All Bollocks."

“People could be very happy with fuck all," Reid wrote in 2015. "Learn from the past. Live in the present. Look to the future.”
