Double Tap to Zoom

It’s almost been ten years since Jamie xx released his debut solo album In Colour (2015). So, it’s fair to say that the follow-up to this critically acclaimed album (it received Grammy, Brit, and Mercury Award nominations) is long-awaited.

However, we are finally on the verge of receiving another full-length project from the British musician, with his second album In Waves scheduled for release in September 2024. And, to celebrate the occasion, Jamie xx and Tekla are releasing a suitably wavy homeware collection.

Tekla’s signature towels and bathrobes are usually a relatively minimal affair (as can be expected from a Scandinavian label) sometimes decorated with simple stripes and always offered in tasteful colors. The Jamie xx collaboration, however, is a little more eye-catching than Tekla’s in-line range.

The collaborative hooded bathrobe and beach towel come in a bold monochrome graphic colourway, inspired by the In Waves album artwork.

Thick wavy lines from the album cover give both items in the two-piece drop a borderline psychedelic look.

“Jamie xx has been a part of Tekla’s community since the beginning. We are thrilled to celebrate this moment with him by bringing our worlds of music and design together,” Charlie Hedin, Founder and Creative Director of Tekla, says in a statement.

While there’s still some time to wait before Jamie xx’s new album releases, his new Tekla collaboration is available to shop now, in line with the artist’s current summer festival tour.
