Kanye West is working on a new album titled God's Country, with new music that could be dropping soon, a source close to the rapper has confirmed.

The renowned cinematographer and artist Arthur Jafa made the revelation in a recent Instagram Live chat with French artist Michèle Lamy. During the conversation Jafa told Lamy he's recently been "really busy" on a video-focused collaboration with West.

"It's from his new record," Jafa said, albeit noting that the project is not connected with West's Sunday Service experience. "It's called God's Country and this will be, like, the first single, I guess, off of it. I don't know if I'm supposed to not be announcing it or whatever. I may just be spilling the beans. But yeah it's from a new record that's forthcoming. I don't know when the album is coming out but the single, I think, maybe some time next week. Maybe. It's not sure. It's not definite."

Jafa previously used Kanye’s 2016 track “Ultralight Beam” in his film, Love Is The Message, The Message Is Death. The award-wining visual artist has also created music videos for the likes of Solange and JAY-Z.

Kanye West has yet to make an official announcement regarding imminent new music, particularly with regards to a title and possible release date.
