This Is the Formula 1 Grade Mercedes of E-Bikes. No, Seriously
Few things are as universally understood and as resonant through global pop culture as the luxury innate to a Mercedes Benz. Finding itself more in the business of transportation than just cars these days, it 's no wonder the German mobility icon has long widened its scope to cover the the world of e-bikes too.
An e-bike's not just an e-bike though, and the differences between models, brands, and functions are nothing short of jarring. Needless to say, Mercedes' take on the electricity-powered bicycle far outdoes the average model. And this is a fact nowhere near as apparent than in light of the company's special Formula 1 series.
Timed for the racing sport's season kick-off, Mercedes' AMG high performance offshoot is releasing three versions of the V17 design. For city, track, and rally, respectively, these e-bikes are limited to 500 units each, and come individually numbered and autographed by Mercedes' F1 pilots George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
In either a white with black, black with white, or all-out black colorway with Mercedes' signature turquoise fine-accentuations, riding these aerodynamic e-bikes qualifies as pretty much the next best thing to actually piloting a race car — visually, at the very least.
Briefly putting aside the fetching optics of these bad boys, their technical features also promise a 20% performance upgrade compared to normal slash competing vehicles.
Now, this isn't just any other two-wheeler, so it ain't priced like one either, let's be fair. This is a feat of innovative engineering, and comes at the cost of one.
But it's an investment piece for its peerless level of quality in optics and usage, as well as a collector's item that is undoubtedly going to rise in value with the passing of time.
So whether one's more of a subway commuter, prefers a fully motorized A to B, or simply an F1 fan, spending some on Mercedes' limited edition V17 e-bike is just about certain to pay off.
