Sotheby's has launched its first-ever sale of archive pieces designed by Martin Margiela. The online auction began just days ago on September 19 and runs until October 1.

The Margiela sale includes 216 items from a 20-plus-year span — courtesy of a private collector — featuring some of the most iconic designs from Martin Margiela's career, specifically from 1989 to 2006.

Martin Margiela is well known for deconstructing garments to reveal the reverse of the fabric and its lining. He has also adapted doll's clothing to human size and painted his pieces.

Sotheby's Margiela sale consists of ready-to-wear garments as well as limited editions from the Artisanal collection. You can bid on the 200-plus items here.
