Needles has seen a handful of collaborations this year ranging from Dr. Martens to another AWGE capsule, and now the Japanese label is teaming up with Los Angeles retail stalwart Maxfield for an exclusive collection.

Since its establishment in 1997, Needles and its parent company, Nepenthes — both overseen by Keizo Shimizu — have gone from importers of vintage Americana to cornerstones of international Japanese streetwear, with streetwear fans all over the globe collecting its staple track pants. This year alone, Needles has remixed its tracksuits for everyone from the aforementioned AWGE to Union LA and MIYAGIHIDETAKA.

Always branded by that signature papillon ("butterfly") logo, Needles tracksuits again play a central role in its latest collaboration, which also incorporates some of Maxfield's own stylistic cues.

Specifically, the label's velour jacket and boot-cut track pants arrive in pale sage green contrasted by pink and red stripes down the leg. Of course, that butterfly branding is front-and-center, with Maxfield's moniker embroidered below as per usual in Needles' collaborative tracksuit drops.

In addition to the tracksuit, the collection also features a yellow and black mohair cardigan — one of Needles' sleeper hit styles — as well as a Hawaiian print Western shirt.

The Needles x Maxfield collection is showcased in a campaign starring tattoo artist Dr. Woo, who is a self-described "master of the single needle." Given his ties to other boundary pushing designers, who better to front the collection?

The four-piece capsule collection is releasing exclusively at Maxfield LA, Malibu, as well as online at Maxfieldla.com on December 11, priced between $400 and $500.
