Missy Elliott Gets Inducted Into Songwriters Hall of Fame

After being nominated in November, as Missy Elliott has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She is the first female rapper to join their ranks, coming hot on the heels of last year's induction of JAY-Z, the first-ever rapper. The formal ceremony is scheduled for June 13, 2019 in New York.
Missy Elliott has indicated that a new album will be headed our way this year, the long overdue followup to her last full-length, 2005's The Cookbook. Whether it will materialize is anyone's guess.
