Animal-free Canadian footwear label Native Shoes is getting set for Spring/Summer ’17 with the ultra lightweight Mercury Liteknit.

Native Shoes design for accessibility and ease of wear; looking at its footwear the phrase 'less is more’ might come to mind. The Mercury Liteknit is constructed for unparalleled weightlessness and comfort. A meticulously-woven elasticized knitted upper wraps the foot for a perfect fit, while an EVA outsole and Superfoam perforated insole add little to the shoe’s overall weight.

Fortunately, these features haven’t come at the sacrifice of aesthetics. The brand continues to keep things stripped back, but the knitted upper creates a contemporary look available in Jiffy Black, Shell White, Regatta Blue, Clay Pink and Air Blue.

Native Shoes started in Vancouver, Canada in 2009 and continued looking for new ways to improve comfort and reduce weight. The brand also prides itself on its Beast Free policy, this essential part of its DNA means they haven’t and will not ever use animal hair or hide. The policy has earned the label the PETA-Approved Vegan certification.

The Mercury Liteknit sneakers are available online February 2.
