What We’re Saying: While summer is a time to relax for many, NEIGHBORHOOD is taking the opposite approach by ramping things up a notch in terms of collaborations. The Japanese streetwear brand recently launched joint projects with adidas and Suicoke, and is now gearing up for a release alongside Vans.

For its latest effort with the California skate brand, NEIGHBORHOOD has reimagined two icons in the Sk8-Hi and Era, albeit of the Comfycush variety. For those unaware, Vans' Comfycush collection is characterized by more technical variations of signature models, ones that prioritize comfort above all. Here, we find the two silhouettes showcased in all-black, boasting suede and canvas uppers and synthetic leather heel counters. The Comfycush upgrades emerge in the form of a one-piece constructed interior with tongue tie-downs that improve fit and feel, as well as added arch support and a co-molded foam and rubber outsole that further improves cushioning while providing ample grip.

In terms of branding, the Sk8-Hi and Era are marked with contrasting white Vans Off the Wall logos on the tongue and heel (the former of which only appears on the Sk8-Hi), in addition to NEIGHBORHOOD branding on the heel. The midsoles then read "THE FILTH AND THE FURY TOKYO EST. 1994," pointing to the year the Japanese brand was founded.

News of the impending NEIGHBORHOOD x Vans drop arrives as Vans is also prepping the release of its first-ever collab with Palace. You can learn all about that particular project here.
