Netflix's latest docu-series, The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, premiered yesterday. The documentary digs deep into the case of an eight-year-old boy who tragically died at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend in 2013. The story is so upsetting that Twitter has been in collective shock and fury since the series dropped.

The viewers' outrage concerns the prolonged abuse of Fernandez, which apparently wasn't a secret to the Los Angeles CPS who, the show asserts, were well aware of the boy's situation yet failed to protect him.

Directed by Brian Knappenberger, the show follows the trial against Fernandez's mother and her boyfriend, as well as the four social workers involved in his case. Watch the trailer below.
