Techy Pouch & All, New Balance’s Dad Shoe Gets Serious About Its Trail Dreams
New Balance's newest 1906 sneaker gives backpacking a whole new meaning. It brings the concept to the feet, essentially.
The 1906R's trail dreams just got realer, thanks to a new outdoor-minded makeover. Basically, the latest sneaker comes equipped with the adjustable toggle shoelaces and its very own ripstop pouch.
Yes, you read that right. New Balance has attached a zippered mini bag, perfect for storing small items while on the move. That includes hiking.
The dad sneaker already features a classic mesh construction, allowing plenty of fresh airflow to the feet while trekking. At the same time, its soles are packed with plenty of tech, which look like they could hold their own on the trails.
Plus, they already look like they belong in the wild (complimentary).
The new navy pairs aren't expected to release until the fall season on New Balance's website. But it puts the 1906 one step closer to its trail sneaker dreams. The brand has already introduced several rugged versions, including GORE-TEX renditions.
Any more outdoor-worthy upgrades and we'll have to start calling the 1906R the 1906T. T for "trail," of course.
