New Balance has debuted a new 1906 model called the 1906F. It's basically an even more high-tech version of the dad sneaker, featuring a no-sew-style upper and stress-free quick shoelaces.

In all honesty, it looks like the classic 1906R disguised as a trail sneaker.

The New Balance 1906F is set to debut a few colorways, including a bold "Punch Yellow" scheme. It brings sunshine and citrus flavors to the outdoorsy sneakers, blending, well, punchy yellows with sprinkles of "tangerine heat" and classic black.

Between the sunny scheme and the model's techy, trail-coded design, the 1906F heavily leans into the gorpcore aesthetic, and looks good doing so.

And it's not the only one. New Balance has recently revealed other outdoor-style versions, including 1906s with similar adjustable shoelaces and GORE-TEX uppers.

The OG trail sneakers better watch out. New Balance has already turned the model into a dad sneaker-loafer. What's stopping it from making the 1906 into a legit outdoor shoe? After all, it has so much potential.

For now, New Balance is giving us the closest best thing with the 1906F. The new "Punch Yellow" pairs are now available on New Balance's website for $155, alongside other colorways.
