Marrying a techy dad shoe with a loafer was already pretty wild. Now, New Balance is letting the world know that its most imposing shoe is an absolute firecracker. Literally.

The New Balance 1906L "Silver Metallic/Black/Fire Cracker" loafer is basically this colorful version of the model, exploding with shiny streaks, patent leather moments, and traditional black mesh.

With the 1906L, New Balance borrows the signature ingredients of the classic 1906 sneaker and reworks them into a slip-on loafer.

Junya Watanabe MAN helped introduce the crazy mashup to the world in 2024, with the sneaker-loafer almost instantly going viral and dividing sneakerheads. It has since helped lead an entire movement of dress-sneaker hybrids, which continue to grow in numbers.
