New Balance ruggedized its 2010 dad shoe.

It's the same clean, chunky model as before, but now more durable than ever, thanks to a ripstop nylon update.

The reinforced nylon material replaces the model's usual mesh underlays, bringing extra muscle, as well as added breathability and water-repellency.

Of course, as the name implies, ripstop nylon is there to help, well, stop any rips and snags as well.

New Balance has applied ripstop to previous models before. It's now using it to toughen up the trendy dadcore sneaker.

The ripstop New Balance 2010 appears in two nice colorways, including "Outerspace" and a tasty "Cortado" option. The latter sneaker looks like an older JJJJound collaboration, if it developed some tough skin.

New Balance really leans into the outdoorsy vibe with these 2010s. Aside from the ripstop touches and earthy schemes, it also features hiking-style laces, making it a truly rugged collection.

For the dad shoe diehards wondering, New Balance's 2010 ripstop sneaker is expected to drop on the brand's website in Spring 2026.
