In Army Green, New Balance's Techy Dad Shoe Is Now Even Daddier
Hard to argue with a formula that works, but New Balance went ahead and improved on it anyway.
The ABZORB 1890 is what happens when you take the 890v3, the beloved 2013 runner and fuse it with the original sole of the 2002. A mashup that had no right to work this well. And yet.
The upper pulls directly from its namesake, complete with its wavy cutout pattern pressed into the mesh, subtle enough to almost miss at first glance, interesting enough that you won't stop looking once it’s been spotted.
In ‘Faded Black and Utility Green’, the whole thing has a worn-in, off-duty feel, like it's been around the block already.
Toward the bottom sits a full-length ABSORB midsole so cushioned it's practically a lifestyle choice. Dad would be proud.
Speaking of which, yes, this is a quote-unquote, dad shoe. A very good one at that. The kind that makes you think maybe dads were onto something all along. The 1890 sits at the top of the ABSORB collection and wears that title well.
Chunky and quietly cooler than it has any right to be.
