Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to apologize to fans over yesterday's "abrupt" and "insensitive" retirement announcement, stating that in hindsight she should have explained her decision to quit the music industry via her Beats 1 show, Queen Radio.

In her original tweet, Minaj revealed that she was tiring from her music career to concentrate on building her family. The announcement was met with dismay from fans, some of whom hit up the 36-year-old artist to ask for a more detailed explanation, stating they'd been left "hurting."

"I'm still right here," Minaj began before writing that she will now address her retirement properly on Queen Radio. "I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything." Read her apology in full below.
