Editor’s Notes: Nike is releasing an adventurous new Air Force under its N. 354 line. This particular iteration of the Air Force 1-Type is aptly referred to as "Experimental Sail."

The "Experimental Sail" AF1 gets its name from the foam-like material applied to the upper, one that mimics the type of foam created by the agitation of seawater. According to Nike, the spongy material is inspired by oxygen masks used in the company's research lab.

To further distinguish the shoe from your typical Air Force 1, the model incorporates pull tabs on the tongue and heel, as well as a drawcord in addition to laces. The "Experimental Sail" Forces are also appropriately branded with N. 354 labels.

Nike has yet to confirm a release date for the Air Force 1-Type N. 354 "Experimental Sail," although it is expected to arrive in the coming months with a price tag of $110. Per usual, keep it locked here for details.
