Nike’s Vibram Air Force 1 Has a Pretty Face, Brave Sole
From afar, Nike's "Silt Red" Air Force 1 looks like another pretty pink-ish take on the classic. But once up close and personal with the newest AF1, it reveals itself to be an incredibly tough sneaker.
For one, the Nike Air Force 1 '07 LX model features Vibram soles, which up the sneaker's durability by providing sturdy grip on various surfaces.
At the same time, the Vibram Forces wears this neat technical jacket. Specifically, its uppers feature this rugged, almost ripstop-like grid-patterned material. If it's anything like famously tough fabric, this sneaker can indeed withstand some rough handling.
And again, the whole Air Force 1 sneaker appears in this lovely "Silt Red" colorway, which really looks more pink than anything.
As we speak, the cute yet ruggedized Air Force 1 Low LX Vibram sneaker is available on Nike's website for $140. It also comes in two other colorways, "Pencil Point" and "Summit White" (we've already met the former).
Nike toughening up its most famous sneaker is nothing new, as the brand has previously produced army-level pairs featuring both Vibram and GORE-TEX.
Extending the life of a certified Swoosh classic is certainly a great thing. Not to mention, the Nike icon looks good with a little extra muscle.
