Editor’s Notes: Following previous leaks and delayed release dates, the Nike Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” has been officially released. The sneaker was surprise-dropped in small numbers to celebrate the premiere of ESPN’s Michael Jordan docu-series, The Last Dance. It will see a wider release on May 2 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.

With the Air Jordan 5 celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Nike is expected to ramp up releases of the iconic silhouette, the “Fire Red” colorway with the OG “Nike Air” branding being one of them. Another notable release to get the “Nike Air” relaunch is the “Bred” Nike Air Jordan 4, which dropped last year.
