Fragment's Blacked-Out “Liquid” Nike Sneaker Walks on Air & Water
Fragment is getting first dibs on Nike's Air Liquid Max sneaker.
In classic Fragment fashion, the label dresses the "melted"-soled sneaker in all-black, topped with signature branding as if the model is still in the sample stages.
But it's all ready to go.
Nike confirmed the Air Max Liquid Max will make its grand debut on Nike's website on March 26, a.k.a Air Max Day (of course!). The sneaker will release in this "Green Apple" colorway, which nods to its amphibious inspirations.
Poison dart frogs, these cute but deadly creatures found in the tropics, were on the Air Liquid Max mood board. The sneaker's liquified soles are directly inspired by the animal's toe pads.
And even though it may look like the DN8's weird cousin, the Air Liquid Max features classic Air underfoot. However, Nike has tweaked it slightly to become what they call "point-loaded Air," a more strategic placement of the technology that results in that "liquid" look.
Most importantly, it now feels like you're walking on air and water.
The Air Liquid Max is already off to an exciting start, having received a Yeat co-sign and the headlining slot for Air Max Day. And now, it's also adding a Fragment collab to the lineup.
It's unclear when Fragment's blacked-out pairs will release. But it's safe to say they'll drop soon, considering Fujiwara is already out here flexing them on Instagram.
