For most of the time that Air Maxes have existed, the headlines have been dominated by the Air Max 90 and Air Max 1. These two silhouettes defined the category and were go-to options when it came to collaborations and limited releases.

In recent years, though, the Air Max 95 has stolen the spotlight and the latest Women’s Air Max 95 Big Bubble SE suggests the 95 is here to stay.

Undoubtedly one of the boldest Air Max designs, the 95 is characterized by its multi-layered upper and chunky sole unit. What’s more, now being rolled out is the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble which, as the name suggests, features a more prominent air window to the heel, paying homage to the original 1995 release.

So while the Air Max 95 Big Bubble SE has something for the long-term 95 disciples, it’s sure to usher in a host of new fans, too, with one of the best colorways in recent memory.

Starting from the base of the upper, this women's Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble SE Dark Grey/Black/Metallic Silver/Off White boasts premium black leather with a beautiful grained texture to the toe box and lower panelling. In contrast to this understated foundation sits two silver layers, one of which features a reflective coating. Grey netting makes up the rest of the upper.

For many years, the underwhelming strategy for Women’s releases was limited to ‘shrink it and pink it’, BUT the Air Max 95 Big Bubble SE Dark Grey/Black/Metallic Silver/Off White signals a new era.

Perfectly in line with the fan-favorite DNA of the Air Max 95—big, brutalist, and sporty—but with a closer eye on quality and texture, this release suggests a bright new epoch for a time-honored favorite.
