Nike’s Dark Air Max Is Basically a Race Car for Feet
Nike's next black Air Max 95 sneaker not only looks good, but it's also secretly tough. And you can thank its carbon fiber update for that.
Well, Nike hasn't exactly confirmed if the newest Air Max sneaker features carbon fiber. But its patterned details hint at the presence of the lightweight material with steel-like strength (really, it's stronger).
Honestly, the "Black Carbon" Air Max 95 sneaker offers a pretty rugged setup overall, layered with hard-textured leather and, of course, what looks like glossy carbon fiber.
Those same shiny woven details also appear on the tongue and heel, suggesting that this particular Air Max 95 may very well come with some race car-level muscle.
Carbon fiber is typically used to make airplane and motorsports parts, as well as the occasional Nike sneaker or two. Many of the Nike's super running shoes include carbon fiber plates, which act as levers for high-energy takeoffs. But on Nike's more casual classics, it not only adds next-level durability but also makes them look quite cool.
Again, it's unknown if Nike's Air Max 95 has the carbon fiber look or actually includes the material. Either way, it looks ruggedly good.
Expect all to be revealed when the Nike Air Max 95 "Black Carbon" sneaker releases this year on the brand's website.
