Yesterday, we were scrolling through Instagram when we saw hidden.ny post a picture of a pitch-perfect, neutral cable knit sweater draped effortlessly over an equally neutral sofa. The soft hues were contrasted only by a stark Swoosh running through the middle of the cabled knit. It’s got to be unreleased NOCTA, right? Or maybe an upcoming Supreme collab? We were wrong. General-release Nike knitwear is a thing, and we’re seriously on board.

Nike is, obviously, pretty well-versed in doing most things within design at this point. From giving Virgil nigh-on free rein with his conceptual collaborations to leading the charge with technical developments. It’s funny, then, that Nike knitwear seems so surprising to us. And not just that, but the fact that this Nike cable-knit sweater is up there with our favorite knitwear of the season, rivaling the top names in luxury fashion.

It falls under the sub-brand of Nike Life which deals in everyday style. Alongside understated chore coats, overshirts, and the like, the Nike cable-knit sweater doesn’t seem so foreign.

Another defining part of the Nike Life offering is that it’s a jump up in quality from the Swoosh’s staple sportswear. Woven into a heavy knit fabric with ribbed cuffs to seal in the heat, this slightly oversized knit feels like an unexpected thrift-store gem. Aside from the big Nike Swoosh running across the chest, that is.

The Nike cable-knit sweater is available in burgundy, off-white, and black and retails for a price of $175.
