Nike has elevated beyond just bringing the heat. It simply IS the heat.

In "Habenero," the Nike SB Zoom Air Paul Rodriguez 1 is literally a red-hot skate shoe that is arguably one of the Swoosh's most luxe in-line outputs — skatewear or otherwise.

In collaboration with American skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, Nike is adding fuel to the skate shoe fire, and skateboards everywhere are better for it. A fire colorway for an equally fire sneaker.

The sneaker's body is reminiscent of a Nike Dunk mixed with a little bit of an Air Max, thanks to that signature air unit at the base. So far, so familiar.

But just about everything else on this sneaker is notably different from anything we've seen from Nike or the skate world at large.

Like, it's seriously luxe, which isn't really something associated with shredders that are meant to get, well, shredded.

The upper is made with a quilted velvet-like material with embedded "PR" monogramming at the heel, boosting the sneaker's overthigh-fashion appeal. Things get even more regal at the Swoosh with gold stitching that ties in with the skate shoe's tongue."West" is engraved on the SB Zoom Air’s lace dubrae, a nod to Rodriguez's California roots.

Available on the Nike website for $199, this spicy skate shoe is both a novelty and the future of skate sneakers. Just look at the gorgeous stunners Vans has been whipping up. Opulence is the new norm for signature shredders. Just wait on it.
