Nike Saved Its Iciest Shox Sneaker for Puerto Rico
And for Puerto Rico, perhaps an icy Nike Shox R4 sneaker made in your honor? Indeed.
Nike's new sleek Shox R4 is a gift to Puerto Rico. Dressed in "Glacier Blue," the sneaker features chilled blue leather uppers, joined by splashes of red and white. It all seems to call back to Puerto Rico's original flag colors.
There's also "PR" and star graphics wrapping the Shox columns. At the same time, Nike has attached a vejigante charm to the high-tech sneaker, as a nod to the Puerto Rican folklore character.
We've seen stylish full-leather Shox R4s and even funky formal spins from Martine Rose. But the "Puerto Rico" pairs are easily the cleanest yet. It's a beautiful homage to a beautiful place.
They would've honestly been perfect for the 2026 Super Bowl, which was headlined by Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican musician literally brought the island to one of the world's biggest stages, turning it into a high-energy love letter to what Bad Bunny and others call home.
Nike may have other big plans for the "Puerto Rico" Shox sneakers, though. According to sneaker leakers, the shoes will drop sometime this summer on Nike's website, maybe even around the same time as the Puerto Rican Day Parade, which will be held in NYC in June.
If that is the case, consider parade-day sneaker plans sorted.
