It's hard to tell at first, but Nike's burgundy-colored V5 RNR sneaker is actually quite rugged.

How? Underneath the pretty makeup, the running-style sneaker has a ripstop underlay that, well, stops small tears from turning into big ones. The specially woven fabric is strong yet lightweight, which is another reason why it's often used for outdoor tents and workwear.

It makes for good-looking, secretly tactical sneakers, too.

Nike's V5 RNR looks good on a normal day, having landed in many stylish colorways since its 2024 debut. The new "Night Maroon" pair is another stunner, for sure. Then, the quiet ripstop detail makes it even better.

As of now, the V5 RNR Ripstop sneakers are up for grabs on Bloomingdale's website for $95. And good news: there's other colorways like "Pencil Point" and "Iron Grey."
