Editor’s Notes: Noah and adidas Originals’ collaborative collection is an appreciation and a celebration of the oceans. Comprising two footwear silhouettes and a range of matching apparel, the collection makes use of Prime Blue — a knitted material, developed by adidas and Parley for the Oceans, that utilizes recycled ocean plastics.

Prime Blue is a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic— upcycled plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines, preventing it from polluting our ocean.

“The water and the ocean were the backdrop for everything where I grew up. We spent incredible amounts of time at the beach, fishing or just hanging out near the water,” Noah co-founder Brendon Babenzien explains. “Now that I am an adult with the ability to see the damage we've been doing to the environment and bodies of water in particular, I am in a position to try to correct some of that damage.”

The collection is split into a lifestyle and a performance part. The lifestyle section comprises two colorways of the archival SL72 model (in the gallery above), which feature the aforementioned Prime Blue on their uppers. The performance part of the adidas Originals by Noah collection takes inspiration from Babenzien’s passion for running, and sees the Noah co-founder rework the SL20 lightweight running shoe.
