Picture this: On sneakers, but even techier-looking than usual. A crazy thought? Sure.

Well, thanks to a three-way collaboration between On, Voo Store, and Berlin University of Arts, a handful of the Swiss running brand’s most famed products have been reinterpreted as a part of an education and mentorship project.

The result? On sneakers – but even wilder!

Essie Kramer, a Berlin-based designer, took a classic On running sneaker and turned it into a thigh-high mountain boot by way of a recycled polyester blend with a Helion superfoam sole and a detachable leg design.

The sneaker, which is a one-of-a-kind and retails at €520, drops alongside other Frankenstein’d On pieces including corsets, T-shirts, and race shorts that have been turned into semi-sheer statement pants by Kurdish designer, Sezgin Kivrim.

Revenue from each sale will be donated to Champions Ohne Grenzen, a Berlin-based charity organisation making sports accessible to refugees in Germany.

Since its inception back in 2010, On has become renowned for its high-end, techy approach to sportswear.

However, while its focus has always predominantly been in the world of performance, On has always had its toes dipped in fashion, most famously alongside LOEWE with whom it’s dropped countless collaborations.

More recently, On has revealed a highly anticipated partnership with Korean streetwear brand Post Archive Faction that has turned the burly On Cloudmonster into a more wearable, everyday sneaker.

Thanks to its project alongside Voo Store and Berlin University of Arts, though, On’s footwear is reaching new heights — both figuratively and literally.
