Double Tap to Zoom

Festival season has begun, and after two years of no events, concerts, or gatherings, it feels like the perfect time to revisit some of our favorite festivals.

That's why Pharrell has just announced that he's bringing back Something in the Water festival, this time taking it to Washington D.C.

"I love my city, but for far too long it has been run by — and with toxic energy,” he explained. “The toxic energy that changed the narrative several times around the homicide of my cousin, [Donovon] Lynch, a citizen of Virginia, is the same toxic energy that changed the narrative around the mass murder and senseless loss of life at Building Number 2.”

Previously, the festival was held in Virginia Beach, but after Pharrell's cousin got fatally shot by an office in the ara, he's decided to pull the festival from there, after the local government failed to take accountability or respond in an adequate way.

Tickets for the festival will be available starting April 30, and the actual event itself will be taking place on Juneteenth.

Thus far, the line-up features names like Tyler, the Creator, Pusha-T, Skepta, Snoh Alegra, Bia, and plenty of others, as well as "some people we can't announce yet."

Head over to the festival's Instagram page to stay updated on any announcements, and make sure to get your tickets when they release later this week.
